When Charlie and the kids were here this summer, they stopped inside the Capitol to get a photo with Charlie's GGGrandfather's portrait. He was Warren Green, a former Governor of South Dakota. Outside, just east of the Capitol, they have a tree planted for every governor in Hilger's Gulch. So, this is the tree for Warren Green. I was hoping to get it in fall colors, but it's not quite there yet, so maybe I'll try again in a week or so.
They also have a stone for every Governor as well. Green was Governor in the early 1930's.
